PRIVACY
Privacy policy
budgeter is built as a private ledger. This page sets out, in plain terms, what the service holds, where it is held, and what is never done with it.
What we collect
The account details you supply — an email address and a password hash — and the financial records you enter or import: accounts, transactions, categories, budgets and the exchange rates applied to them. Nothing further is inferred about you, and no data is purchased from third parties.
Where it is held
On servers within the European Union, under the GDPR. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Backups are held in the same jurisdiction and are subject to the same retention rules as live data.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your financial data, or share it with anyone beyond the infrastructure providers that run the service.
- Serve advertising, or profile you for anybody else's.
- Load third-party analytics, trackers or advertising pixels.
- Use your records to train machine-learning models.
Your rights
You may request a full export of your data, correct it, or have the account and its records deleted. Deletion is permanent: records are removed from live systems immediately, and age out of encrypted backups as they rotate. Requests are answered within one month, as the GDPR requires.
